Moral Subjects

"We want to thank all the creatives for their amazing responses to Moral Subjects. The exhibition is now LIVE!

Come and engage! Moral Subjects is a project that runs in parallel with Grayson Perry’s exhibition: The Vanity of Small Differences, showing at East GalleryNUA this summer. “I focus on the emotional investment we make in the things we choose to live with, wear, eat, read or drive. Class and taste run deep in our character”. Moral Subjects takes this approach as its simple idea and the result is a showcase of our objects and their subjects.

We asked the people of Norwich and Norfolk for objects, things of importance that are tied to you emotionally or practically. We asked for the stories that these objects evoke, hoping for a variety of responses as rich as society itself. And of course, with our creative community, that is exactly what we got. These responses have been taken and exhibited in a virtual gallery space presenting a snapshot of opinion, belief, fear, hope, likes, and dislikes. A spin around this exhibition is a window into the museum of emotional attachment to things." - NUA

The Lanyard, 2021

The Lanyard is a line drawing of my teacher lanyard, filled with text about my dual role of artist-teacher relating to my Ph.D.
